Artisan of bread

Organized for the first time in 1996, the international Salone del Gusto occurs every two years in Turin and is one of the most important events in the world dedicated to artisan food and wine producers, as well as an opportunity for exchange of experience for producers and co-producers from around the world.

The big news for the international event - that brings thousands of farmers and food craftsmen from 150 countries worldwide – is that in the twentieth anniversary of the first edition and thirty years since the founding of Slow Food in Italy , the organizers decided to celebrate the two anniversaries reinventing the event.

The location within a trade fair had its day: the issues related to the philosophy of good, clean and fair food, now belong to everyone and should be enjoyed to the widest possible audience.

Lampioni Parco Valentino

That's why the Piedmont Region, the City of Turin and Slow Food decided to open the doors of the event, and to "invade" the most beautiful places in the city: the Food Market, which will take place in the beautiful Parco del Valentino, will be one of the focal points of the event through the direct experience of tasting and conviviality. But also the Medieval Village, the Royal Palace, Teatro Carignano, the Circolo dei Lettori and the Reggia di Venaria, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be just some of the spaces where the event will unfold.

The event will be held on September 22th to 26th and you can find more info about the program on the Slow Food website
